چکیده
For over 25 years sporadic reports have been appearing in the literature of cases of eosinophilic granuloma arising in various parts of the gastro-intestinal tract. Kaiiser (1937) described the first cases. In a search of the literature, which although extensive is not claimed to be exhaustive, 47 papers were found, describing a total of 89 cases. They occurred throughout the alimentary tract from pharynx to rectum, though the majority were in the stomach and small intestine, and they

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis with Splendore-Hoeppli material in the ferret (Mustela putorius furo).
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis, focal or diffuse with eosinophilic infiltrations of the stomach or intestine, has been described in human beings, cats, dogs, and horses. In this paper, we describe infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract with eosinophils accompanied by a circulating eosinophilia in six ferrets (Mustela putorius furo). Clinical signs included chronic weight loss, anorexia, and d...

Eosinophilic granuloma is benign end of the spectrum of the Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) which is characterized by solitary or multiple lesions in bones, skin, lung, lymph node etc. Here, we present a case of a 13-year old boy with pain and swelling in the right parietal region of skull with no other complaint. A computerized tomography (CT) scan and subsequent fine needle aspiration cyt...
متن کاملEosinophilic Gastroenteritis Presenting as Intestinal Obstruction - A Case Series
Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis is a rare disease characterized by infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract by an increased number of eosinophils as compared to the normal. The anatomic location and intensity of the infiltrate decides the varied clinical symptomatology with which these patients present. The present report deals with four cases, all presenting with clinical signs of intestinal ob...

24 Infection with the trematode helminth Schistosoma mansoni results in a parasite 25 egg-induced, CD4 T cell-mediated, hepato-intestinal granulomatous and fibrosing 26 inflammation that varies greatly in severity, with a higher frequency of milder 27 forms typically occurring in endemic regions. One possible explanation is that in 28 these regions the degree of inflammation is lessened by wide...
متن کاملThe Enhancing Effect of Sodium Glycocholate and Sodium Salicylate on Rats Gastro-intestinal Permeability to Insulin
There have been numerous efforts to formulate insulin into an oral dosage form. The major problems involved with the oral administration of insulin are acidic and enzymatic decomposition by the gastric medium, and poor absorption in the small intestine due to its macromolecular structure. This study attempted to test the enhancing ability of two absorption enhancers, sodium glycocholate (Na-G...
